I recently engaged in a conversation with my fellow Compass partner, Todd Love surrounding what trends he was most excited about from a data supplier perspective.  Todd always hears the buzz before most and has the pulse on what is happening on the “data” street.   His response about technology and data delivery platforms currently being utilized or developed was beyond enthusiastic.  I am sharing a few of his insights below. 

“Data requires integration on various emerging technologies and delivery platforms now more than ever before.  The nature of these platforms themselves and how they are being utilized point to the validity or accuracy of the information that is being presented.   This can be evidenced in point-of-interest mobile phone applications, online lead platforms, data matches via API, online directories, ad targeting - to name a very few. “ - Todd Love 

To Todd’s point if the data being presented on these various technologies is not accurate the value of the application is diminished.  For example if point-of-interest information being provided to a mobile phone application is inaccurate or incomplete it fails to provide the user with the information they need or  provides them with the wrong information all together.  Nothing worse than thinking you have found a great pub close to the football stadium only to make your way there and find a dry cleaning establishment!
